Today was a hot day and the powerful French contingency were fired up for a stage win… as expected! I planned to save energy until the last two Cat 2 climbs where some good points were on offer for the Mt’s Jersey and things went to plan as I got myself into a move at the bottom of the 2 nd last climb of the day.
Finally we get to some good hills today and I let me tell you its about time!!! I am over these flat boring stages!
The Team is G’d up for a stage win and for the MT’s jersey so you might see me have a bit of a crack today. 3 Cat 2′s 2 Cat 3′s and a Cat 4 means lots of points on offer so will be doing my best to get in a move and put some points in the bag.
Today Jurgen will look to stay with the main GC guys and ride his climbing legs in to some form for tomorrows hill top finish at Morzinne-Avoriaz where no doubt it will be on like donky kong. Although I am feeling good I am still not at the weight I’d like to be so today will be a great test…….
Another flat stage another game of hide and go seek.
Hide from the wind and hide from the crashes.
Seek the odd bottle for the boys seek the safest rout from Epernay to Montargis and then seek the quickest way to the hotel for a massage and some more food.

Sorry for not posting anything after the stage yesterday… things were a bit hectic in the team bus!
A lot of riders have complained about yesterdays stage but its racing and everyone gets there moment in the sun, I get Mountains and guys like Cav get flat stages so why cant the classic riders get their chance too?

Being a Belgium team we got to parade on the front of the bunch at the start of the stage for the Brussels crowd and I thought – well this feels safer than back in the peloton, so I decided to see if I could get myself in the move to try and collect some Mt points.
Well after yesterdays stage – seeing so many guys ending up on their backside my room mate for the tour Charlie Wegelius and I will be keeping our eye on the Crashes. Their are certain riders in the group that seem to causing alot of the spills.
Stage 1 to Brussels is done and dusted …. there’s quite a few riders that would of needed a dusting after todays finish too. Lots of crashes and pileups! I am glad to say I didn’t get in any of them and was able to get home unscathed!
